Pansori is a traditional vocal genre in which the performer sings a long narrative story.

In the 18 th century, Pansori was rapidly developed, reached its peak during the 19 th century and early twenty century.

It comprises narration, singing and acting. A drum accompaniment provokes an exciting atmosphere while the percussionist encourages the singer through interjections during the performance.

More than twelve Pansori pieces existed in the past, but today only five pieces are transmitted.
