Cheongseong-gok is a popular solo Daegum or danso piece in which the performer plays classical vocal piece an octave higher while verying its melody.
'Cheongseong' means clear sounds.
Daegum has a hole called Cheonggong on which a membrane is attached. The vibration of the membrane, collected from the reed, produces a unique sound. This sound is prominent in pieces that are performed in a high register. ~ Comments by Hyun Chung Kim
