Yerin Yang, 9 years old, is attending Brentwood Elementary School in Mount Prospect, IL. She started piano at the age of five and currently studies with Brenda Huang at the Music Institute of Chicago. She has won awards in numerous competitions, including the first place in the junior I division at the Chinese Fine Arts Society Competition in 2012, the first place in the elementary division at the Awards Competition in 2012, the second place in the elementary division at the ISMTA District Audition in 2012, the second place at 2012 Savler Competiton, the Honorable mention at the Emilio De Rosario Concerto Competition in 2012, the first place in the primary division of North Shore Music Teachers Association in 2011, the honorable mention at the 2011SAM, the second place in the Olympic Level of Geneva Music Competition in 2010, the Best Interpretation of Korean Piece at Sejong Music Competition in 2010. In August of 2012, she performed a solo concert for the Young Piano Prodigies at the Harold Washington Library. Besides playing the piano, she has been playing the violin for 4 years since she was 5 years old.
Being a student in the gifted program at school, Yerin loves reading books and math.
The utmost desire of Yerin’s heart is to be a pianist like her own teacher, Brenda Huang.
In addition to that, she also wants to be a great composer of piano music. |
