| A native of Muncie, IN, Maya Kilburn is currently 10 years old and studies with Chn Mi Kim in Indianapolis. Maya began her studies at age 4 under Professor Anna Vayman. She won 1st prize in the Indiana Music Teachers Association Competition in both 2009 and 2011, and 2nd prize in the Forte String Competition in 2011. She has been active performing on a variety of recitals including pre-college student recitals at Ball State University ,the 2011 IMTA conference winners recital at the IU Jacob School of Music, a featured appearance for the Indiana Federation of music Clubs competition day as well as on two recitals in Japan. She has two upcoming performances in Costa Rica this March. |
