Gallia is a 14 year old merit scholarship student of The Susan and Richard Kiphart Academy Fellowship. She studies with Almita and Roland Vamos at The Music Institute of Chicago. She commenced her private violin study at five and a half with Betty Haag-Kuhnke at The Betty Haag Academy of Music. In the course of her accomplishments, Gallia has won numerous competitions locally and internationally both as soloist and chamber musician. In 2011, she placed first at the Walgreens National Concerto Competition, Sejong Cultural Society, Chinese Fine Arts Society, and the District 214 Concerto Aria Competition. Gallia’s broadcast performances includes appearances on WFMT 98.7/Introductions, WTTW Channel 11, WGN Channel 9, Today’s Show appearance with Rachel Barton Pine. Other stage appearances includes concerts in Millenium Park, Lincoln Center in New York, Kloster Schontal and Schwabish Hall Kultursiftung in Germany, solo with The Highland Park Strings, The Northshore Chamber Orchestra, Music In The Loft, Young Steinway Concert Series, and many other venues locally and across the country. She has the privilege to take master class with Rachel Barton Pine, Vadim Gluzman, Arkady Fomin, Joseph Silverstein, Ida Kavafian, Ivry Gitlis, and Sherry Kloss. She is a 9th grader at John Hersey High School in Arlington Heights and participates in school orchestra and swim team. She participates in the youth ministry at St James Parish, as choir member and instrumentalist where she loves to present her gift of music back to the community. Gallia performs on a copy of the “Ex-Soldat” Guarneri del Gesu, by Peter Seman, 2008, on generous loan from Rachel Elizabeth Barton Foundation and was also selected to receive a Career Grant from The REB Foundation. |
