Amber Scherer, 14, has been studying piano for eight years and currently studies with Sueanne Metz. In May 2011, Amber won first place in the Emilio Del Rosario Concerto Competition and performed with the Harper College Symphony Orchestra. She has also been awarded first place in the 2011 Walgreens Concerto Competition and the 2010 Society of American Musicians Competition. Most recently, Amber won gold medal at CAMTA and second place in the Piano Festival at Cardinal Stritch University.
Amber is also involved in piano duets at the Music Institute of Chicago and plays the violin in New Trier High School’s Symphony Orchestra. Outside of music, she enjoys history, creative writing, and philosophy.
