David Du, 7, was born in Lafayette, Indiana, and has now been studying piano for 2 years and 4 months. In July 2009, David participated in the World Piano Competition held in Cincinnati, Ohio, and won a silver medal in level 2. Later that year he performed in the Winners’ Concert at Carnegie Hall in New York City on October 10. Last year David again participated in the World Piano Competition and was named a Gold Medal winner in level 5. He also was awarded the Grand Prize in levels 5 to 8 and performed at Carnegie Hall in the Winners’ Concert on October 7. David has been studying composition since last year. He participated in the Indiana Music Teachers Association Composition Festival in 2010, where he won the Golden Note award. David loves to play passionate music and enjoys composing. He also likes reading and solving math problems. He enjoys such hobbies as playing tennis and computer games, and he likes to read newspaper comics. |
