Colin Choi, age 10, is a fifth grader at Shabonee Elementary School in Northbrook, IL.  He started piano at age 5 and is a student of Sueanne Metz.  He has won awards in numerous competitions, including the North Shore Music Teacher’s Association, Illinois Music Association, Grandquist Music Competition in the Olympic Division, Chinese Fine Arts Society, ISMTA, Walgreens National Concerto Competition, and the Emilio del Rosario Competition Junior division.

 In 2009, he was chosen to perform at the Kennedy Center for the International Youth Praise Festival.  In 2010, he performed at Carnegie Hall as a winner of the International Chopin Celebration Competition.  Colin was also the winner of 2011 DePaul Concerto Festival for Young Performers and performed as a soloist with the Oistrach Symphony Orchestra.

His performance was broadcasted live on WFMT radio station.  Colin’s other interests include playing cello, basketball, fishing, video games and his marine reef aquarium.
